Beings and Doings by Sheryl Rae CoxHi I’m Sheryl Rae Cox, author of Beings and Doings and owner and founder of SharingLight.com! My name literally means, Sharing Light, so that’s what I do. I share the light of what I learn in life, in a variety of ways, to help others grow, and accomplish their goals. Have you noticed there seems to be an ever increasing list of rules we must live by? There are rules placed on us by our parents, our school teachers, our government, our church. Does it seem like the mountain of rules of dos and don’ts placed on us is growing to an unreachable summit? Then, just when you think you are doing something safe, someone interprets what you do differently than what you intend and you “get in trouble” for breaking a rule? Does all this leave you confused? ME TOO! I always felt like if I didn’t follow the rules to the T, I would get punished. I was taught to follow the rules without questioning. And I was told to learn to think for myself. When I began to think for myself, if I made a wrong move or said something someone didn’t like, someone got angry with me and asked how I could be so stupid or tell me I should have followed the rules. This left me feeling confined. It left me confused… and frustrated. Then, as I was reading with my family one day, a story began to brew in my mind. I had to write. As the words poured on the page I realized that if we could all just BE and not have to worry about rules and being right or wrong, that this could be a much happier and more peaceful world. Beings and Doings is children’s book, illustrated with simple drawings with a message that adults will appreciate. It is a story of creation and remembering what God always intended for us…and it doesn’t include a mountain of rules for you to adhere to! It only teaches of being love, joy, peace, and light.
